Lifetimes
of wisdom and experience are passed on to us by our elders.
But often, their contributions are forgotten, and their
special needs ignored. It's our mission to give these members
of our community a place to feel respected, safe, comfortable
and happy. It's the least they deserve after giving us so
much.

Vetter
Health Services began in 1975 when Jack and Eldora Vetter bought a
nursing home in Fairbury, a small Nebraska town.
It
was perfect for them. They knew about rural community needs because
they both had lived in small towns. They believed and practiced a
rural work ethic. Jack already had worked in the nursing home
industry for years. Most important, they were eager to provide the
kind of personal care they knew many elderly people needed.
The
Vetters brought to their work a deep understanding of a nursing home
resident's need for dignity in life - a need beyond routine care.
Filling this need became their primary goal - a personal mission.
The idea of dignity in life guided them in each decision they made
about the care of their residents.
With
the help of dedicated associates, Jack and Eldora's values grew into
a successful company, extending their care to the residents of many
more nursing homes. Today, in every Vetter facility, you'll see
quality services truly based on the needs of each resident -
including the need for dignity.
Today,
VHS's reputation for quality care is nationally known. Many
companies ask VHS to share their knowledge. By benchmarking, VHS is
making a difference - teaching others how to provide "Dignity
in Life" the Vetter Way.
