Dedicated to Education
Some years ago, VHS
recognized the importance of building dynamic leaders to ensure the
VHS Mission, Vision and Values are being lived in each facility.
The founders of
Vetter Health Services, Jack and Eldora Vetter, have always been
“leaders” in what they do and what they expect of their facilities.
Through effective leadership at facilities, Jack and Eldora can be
assured that their belief in Dignity in Life is being achieved.
VHS offers several
learning opportunities every year for facility leaders to attend.
Based on the Mission, Vision and Values of VHS, the training
provides facility administrators and supervisors with the basis for
being excellent leaders in their facility. These leaders can then
help all staff get excited about the opportunities we have every day
to serve people.

VHS Training
VHS provides people
leadership and operations training for administrators, supervisors
and directors of nursing. Training begins with a study of the
mission, vision and values that have made VHS so successful in the
health care profession.
Emphasis remains on
people as these leaders are guided through discussions and exercises
designed to increase their effectiveness as leaders in the areas of
developing teamwork, promoting safety, communicating effectively,
managing the physical assets of a facility, providing quality care,
public relations and more. Administrators and supervisors are taught
both philosophies and processes that must be met to achieve quality
of care.
Along with this
training, VHS offers a number of additional seminars, conferences,
task forces and training materials.
Two conferences are
held annually for administrators. The spring conference, held in
Omaha, Nebraska, focuses on mission, vision and values, leadership,
and business-related topics. The fall conference, held in a variety
of locations, focuses not only on business, but on building the VHS
team of leaders.
In addition to
administrator conferences, VHS holds an annual director of nursing
conference. Also, every 18 months, supervisors are invited to Omaha
to refresh their minds with regard to mission, vision and values and
improving their skills.
We know the
only way to live out our Mission, Vision and Values is by training
and developing people to be an example of what we believe.
