We Have Moved...
But Our Hearts Are Stil in the Same
Place!!!
Elkhorn, NE - September 21, 2009
A letter from Jack Vetter:
Often I have an incredible moment
which, of course, turns into an “incredible moment story”. This
story is based, as mine often are, on relationship building, acting
on opportunity, followed by the realization of a dream. On September
18 the VHS team will relocate to a new office. Let me share the
story with you.
I’d been dreaming of a new office building for our current VHS Omaha
team. We have grown and expanded several times since we moved into
the offices on 118th Street in 1984. The square footage is adequate;
however, the design and interior layout is not overly conducive to
good team interaction. In 2007, Glenn encouraged us to reach out and
get to know our neighbors. Part of that process was to invite a
neighboring business team in to introduce themselves to us during
monthly “Family Chat”, our version of a staff meeting. One Friday,
just before lunch, Farm Credit Services, our neighbor to the
Southeast, joined us for a time of sharing. When they were finished
presenting I walked them to the lobby. During this short time,
conversation took place indicating that they were interested in
expanding their campus. After short negotiation, we sold our current
building to them with a lease back provision to provide us with time
to complete design and build our new building.
God has once again confirmed our plans and shown us favor in the
process. Eldora and I feel blessed to be relocating the Vetter
Health Services team to our new building in Elkhorn. We will move on
Friday, September 18 and settle in the week of September 21. With
the exception of our street address, the majority of our contact
information remains unchanged.

(402) 895-3932 – main line remains unchanged
(402) 895-9640 – extension access line

Another incredible milestone in our Vetter Health Services journey
is being realized. We continue to be amazed at God’s favor and
blessing toward us and our VHS Family-of which we consider you a
part. Watch for an invitation to our open house – a date yet to be
determined.
Blessings!

Nebraska health professional Jack Vetter Inducted
into the Nebraska Business Hall of Fame
Lincoln, Nebraska - January 24,
2008
www.nebraskane.usachamber.com
Jack Vetter, founder of Vetter Health Services in Omaha—one of the
nation’s largest senior care networks—was inducted into the Nebraska
Business Hall of Fame, along with two other business leaders on
January 24, according to the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and
Industry.
Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) President Laura J. Redoutey, FACHE, said, “Mr. Vetter is an
exceptional health care leader and is incredibly deserving of this
recognition. It is gratifying for our health professionals to be
acknowledged for their enduring commitment to caring for Nebraska’s
communities, especially in the underserved rural areas.”
A native of Nebraska’s Sandhills, Jack Vetter worked on a ranch and
was foreman of a feed and fertilizer plant before he became
administrator of a Valentine nursing home in 1965. Vetter and his
wife, Eldora, bought their first nursing home in 1975. Vetter Health
Services (VHS) evolved as their management company, and within 15
years of purchasing their first nursing home, the Vetters had
operations in nearly 30 locations. Today, VHS has close to 3,000 employees and
an annual payroll of more than $34 million. Vetter Health Services
is recognized nationally as a leader, innovator and trend setter in
long-term care. By maintaining attractive and compassionate senior
care facilities in smaller communities, Vetter Health Services has
helped preserve
Nebraska’s quality of life.
The 2008 Business Hall of Fame class also includes James P. Abel of
Lincoln, a third generation entrepreneur, and the late Fred
Bosselman of Grand Island. Bosselman was a farmer and trucker who
established one of the nation’s most recognized chain of truck stops
and convenience stores.
The Business Hall of Fame inductions took place January 24, 2008 at
The Cornhusker Marriott in Lincoln. The ceremony is open to the
public.The Nebraska Business
Hall of Fame was established in 1992 by the Nebraska Chamber of
Commerce & Industry and the University of Nebraska College of
Business Administration to recognize Nebraska business leaders whose
contributions to Nebraska’s economy and business environment are
deserving of public acclaim.
The annual selection is made from nominations solicited from the
general business community, statewide business associations, and
from academia.
The criteria includes business people from large and small
businesses and corporations who have made a significant contribution
to the private enterprise system. Current residency is not required,
but the contribution to the business economy must have affected
Nebraska.
To date, the Governor of Nebraska has assisted with the presentation
of the awards each year at the Annual Meeting of the Nebraska
Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The banquet and awards ceremony is typically attended by the
legislative and statehouse leadership, and approximately 600
business leaders from throughout Nebraska. A professionally produced
video of each honoree is shown at the banquet.
A permanent display honoring the inductees is now in place at the
University of Nebraska College of Business Administration and
includes video interviews for current and future business students
to enjoy and learn from.
